Litfuse Review: Chasing Famous by:Lisa Lloyd

Chasing Famous: Living the Life You've Always Auditioned for
About the Book:
Have you ever considered your life as an audition? Regardless of who or where we are, we are constantly--often unconsciously--auditioning for a part. Loving wife. Amazing employee. Crafting queen. Socialite. All we really want is to be loved, affirmed, and accepted. What if we could learn to live the life we have always been auditioning for without all the stress? Chasing Famous is a redemptive book that teaches us how to take the focus off ourselves and shift it back on to the glory of God.

Written by a professional actress who readily admits that she is the most self-centered person she knows, Chasing Famous provides practical and sometimes humorous examples of scriptural truth that will help you master the natural self-centered tendencies of life. Once you've mastered these issues--and you can--your story will turn the spotlight on God where, you'll soon discover, what it means to truly live.

My Review:
To ever think that all the roles that we as women play in our daily lives. We endure and overcome so much that many times we view ourselves as never good enough. Never good enough to be the best mom that our kids needs or the greatest wife that my husband deserves. Each day we throw ourselves under the bus just to do it time and time again. And for what? God doesn't see us that way and we should actually consider the fact that none of our family does either.

The other day I found myself running all over town for my husband and my kiddos because I made the mistake of announcing that I was going into town to run an errand. Then a light bulb went off and several requests were made for me to run around and do things for them, as well. I grumbled a little about it because I thought, don't they see that my time is valuable and that I have things to do. When in reality, I would be upset if they asked someone else to do these things for them. Who loves them better than me? Well God, of course but Mama is just under that.

In my family's eyes I'm a queen that waits on them hand and foot but they know that no matter what Mama has their back and she will do just about anything to please them. And every once in awhile I get rewarded for it. Like my youngest telling me that I'm the best or my oldest saying, "Thanks Mom!"

The Mama that stays up late at night praying for her family whether its an attack from the enemy or they have a major test that they just have to pass. God picked me to be theirs and I love that job position.

Chasing Famous is an actress' way of showing you that bring glory to God has to be first and foremost in every situation. She shares with us how to break the "it's all about me" mold and to look onward and upward more often than not. We get so caught up in the whoa is me mentality and we need to be grateful to God that we are better today than we were yesterday.

A great book for those days that need a little more sunshine!
