Review: Hidden by:Vannetta Chapman

 Hidden
About the Book:
Hidden—A Christian romantic suspense Home is where our story begins ... DANA JACOBS would rather forget the night of tragedy and violence that marred her childhood. She is now supervisor in charge of the Department of Homeland Security in Taos, New Mexico. Her team is prepared to handle any threat—biological, chemical, conventional, cyber, even nuclear.

BENJAMIN MARSHALL is newly assigned to Dana’s office. Straight from a six year military deployment, he is not what Dana wants or needs. Ben knows God has a reason for putting him in this place at this time—to help Dana. When a local school is threatened, they open a case which leads them on a chase through the Enchanted Circle and Carson National Forest, pursuing a man filled with a bitterness Dana can understand. But her anger is different. It’s justified, it remains hidden inside, and it hurts no one.

Can Dana face her own mortality? And when she does, can she truly understand what it means to forgive and to be forgiven?

My Review:
Dana Jacobs had a searing childhood and she tried for much of her life to bury those feelings very deep. But since the first time she laid eyes on Benjamin Marshall, her past kept trying to bubble back up to the surface. Dana tries her best to focus on her job at the Department of Homeland Security and for part of that focusing she does her best to avoid Ben. Soon they start receiving calls about potential bombings and then Dana and Ben are forced to start working closer together.

Ben hadn't planned on working so close to Dana, his boss, but he felt that he couldn't help being completely mystified by her, because of her beauty. When a madman starts to get too close for comfort, Ben slips into soldier mode and will fight anyone to protect her.

Dana and her rag-tag crew zero in on the madman but it becomes difficult when they run into a slight problem---its a family of potential criminals. To top it all off, a minor is involved which makes their job even harder. So now they have to get the person at the head of all of this and try to keep everyone safe. But soon the madman will prove that he is very skilled and crafty at what he does and it will prove no easy feat to capture him. This book will have you chewing your fingernails to the quick. It was an AWESOME read!

Mrs. Vannetta can write anything! She has wrote so many great books, many of which I have had the pleasure to review. I can count her as one of my online friends, she is a very sweet lady and very kind. I feel she never meets a stranger and it shows in her writings. It has been an honor to review for her for the past two years and be a member of her elite street team.
