Review: Noah: A Wordless Picture Book by:Mark Ludy

 Noah: A Wordless Picture Book
About the Book:
Mark Ludy s latest book will appeal to adults and children alike. Digging deeper than the Sunday school tale of cuddly animals on Noah s ark, the story follows the biblical text and illumines Noah s relationship with God, his wife, family, nature, and humanity. Ludy s world-class artwork lets people see, as though for the first time, the beauty within this story - revealing a clearer picture of the nature and character of God and his relationship to humankind. It s immersive and epic in scale and scope. The wordless format invites conversation and storytelling, key building blocks of literacy. And as with his previous books, Ludy s signature mouse Squeakers appears hidden on every page."

About the Author:
Mark Ludy has written or illustrated several acclaimed children’s books including The Farmer, The Flower Man, The Grump, When I Was a Boy I Dreamed, When I Was a Girl I Dreamed, and Jugo the Youngest Tribesman. My Review:
First thought.....this book is AMAZING!!!!! The beautiful sketches that this artist slash author is able to pull off is nothing short of God-given talent. My family was fascinated by the images he was able to convey on a story that is ages old, but he made it seem like it was brand new when viewed through his eyes. Upon opening the book you can get a feel for Noah's personality. I thought, he must of been a man that had a kind, gentle way with animals because he was around some ferocious types to say the least. The cover shows the rainbow with Noah looking above surrounded by an adult tiger and tiger cub. It is just an introduction to the beauty contained inside this marvelouspicture book.

Without uttering one word Mark Ludy nails it! He provides magnificent scenes of what Noah's life and personality must of been like. Noah had such a troublesome task telling those around him what was yet to come. But nonetheless he was able to complete the task before him when God chose him for the very special job of assembling an ark and taking of the animals that came his way. Because of this man, and his family along with his love the Lord, the people of this earth were again created to glorify Him. Oh what an example Noah was!

No matter your age you will find the pictures and the story a beautiful one that you will want to share with young and old alike. Noah, in the eyes of the author seemed like a very loving man that honored God. Without Noah and many others like him , many of us would not be here.
