My Review:
Sara Montgomery learned of her true love's death only a few months ago. Having lost Rand to the Civil War, Sara's father&brother begin coaxing her into marrying another. Ben Croftner, a man with man, something that her family knows very well. When Sara finally accepts Ben's proposal, the town celebrates while poor Sara becomes more and more depressed. As her wedding day approaches, she busies herself with the preparations, only to find her betrothed on her doorstep.
Rand Campbell, was a prisoner of war for months when the prison was finally liberated, he was then sent to a hospital. Now since he has arrived back home, he finds out that Ben never delivered the letters he had written. Then if that doesn't beat all, Sara is to wed Ben---this sends shockwaves of anger over him.
When Rand tells anyone of the plans the army has for him, will Sara follow him? Or will she stay back home to care for her ailing father?
This short read is packed full of information. In just over a 100 pages you learn so much that gives you a great start to the latest series by Colleen Coble. Each book in the series will be short and sweet and full of adventure. I can't wait for the next one! A Heart's Disguise makes for a very ferocious start, I can't wait to see what happens next!
