My Review:
After being deceived by her groom, mail-order bride Kate Dawson became a schoolteacher in a small town. She soon fell in love with each and every student, but a boy with a sick mother needed her, or so she felt. When the boys mother dies, Kate decides to take him in, despite not having a home of her. Sure it's going to be little hard but she can do it. One thing she didn't count on was, a man showing up claiming to be the boy's mother's husband.
Silas Jonesey hasn’t been the best man ever, but everyone makes mistakes. He just never expected that his mail-order bride would up and disappear. Now after years of her being gone, he’s a changed man wanting reconciliation with her wife. When he finally receives a letter from her, he believes its finally time to apologize. But when he arrives at the place she’s been staying, he is hit with a new problem. She’s dead, he has a son, and some teacher lady wants to take his son.
Soon Kate is hit with a sickening opposition, two men saying the boy is there. One she knows is a gambler and a mean man. And the other who is way to handsome. When the parson suggest going to the judge, this whole thing just got a whole lot harder.
A Bride At Last is book three in the Unexpected Bride Series. I’ve read another one of Melissa Jagears’ books before and adored it. And I feel just the same about this book. I loved how you could feel the raw emotion of each character. I can’t wait to see what the author writes next!
