Review: Journey To Heal by:Crystal M. Sutherland

Journey to Heal: Seven Essential Steps of Recovery for Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse
About the Book:
A path of hope and healing for survivors of childhood sexual abuse

A woman who was sexually abused as a child is confronted with many internal questions: Am I worthless? Will I get past the pain? Do I matter to God? These and similar questions can carve a deep hole in an already wounded soul. Too often, the lies of worthlessness are believed, the pain becomes too much to handle, and survivors find themselves making choices that lead to more heartbreak. With over 42 million survivors (both male and female) in the United States alone, the need for a clear path to healing is great.

My Review:
Sexual Abuse is very common and you will always come across or come in contact with at least one individual that has been sexually abused in some form or fashion. The author of Journey To Heal knows your pain all too well because she to was a victim to sexual abuse as a child and it was by someone she trusted. The victim has to come to the realization that God is the source of their healing and their comfort.

The memories of the abuse can wreck your future more than many of us care to realize. You can at some time take all the responsibility and agree with the abuser that maybe you were at fault and before long you isolate yourself out of fear of the judgement you will receive from those that truly care about you, even what you think God feels about you.

The first step in your journey to heal will be to forgive the offender. This is a long trying process but in order for you to heal it must be done and it can only be done adequately through God. Childhood sexual abuse leads to a path a self destruction and God has to be allowed to step in to save His children from any further hurt.

The author shares her story and the stories of others in a way to get the reader to open up about their own experience with sexual abuse and to find the courage to heal and move forward into the realization that God is their only hope.

**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the author.
