About the Book:

They meet again . . . thrown together to help a four-year-old-girl rendered mute after a suspected arson.Years of secrets and anger beg to be set free as Hadley and Monroe try to push aside past hurts and find common ground in order to help the traumatized child and her family. Can the love of Christmas past drift into the present, bringing healing and hope for all?
My Review:
Many, many times we are chained to our past, and most of the time it's not a good thing. Being chained to our past forces us to remain prison to something that has already been redeemed for our sake, and yet day in and day out we put on our shame and regret as if it were a coat. It is said and disillusioning how much of our lives we miss out on due to this.
Hadley and Monroe seem to never meet on equal footing but trying to help a sweet little child has to change all of that even if for a brief moment. Poor Hadley has been given such a tough life, no wonder she has a tough exterior. My heart broke for her.
Cindy Woodsmall is breaking new ground in this genre. While I enjoy her other books this one was equally enjoyable.
A great fiction book just in time for the holidays!
