My Review:
Natalie Grant is a fantastic artist. Her singing has always touched the heart of millions, but her recent involvement with the Faithgirlz series has really transitioned this series, in my opinion. Right now in my world, she is an "it" mom. That mom that has a climbing career as well as a beautiful, successful family. In Glimmer & Shine the author treats our girls to the love that God has for them but she also gives me the firm parent stance which I like. It lets them know that "tough love" is just that. Its tough when it needs to be and its love when it needs to be.
Glimmer & Shine is a great devotional for young girls ages 8-12 years of age. They are at that point in life where they are starting to notice changes in themselves and others. These changes are something they don't understand. And the ones that they believed loved them and understood them now suddenly feel at odds with them. The teen experience can sometimes have it's drawbacks. These poor kiddos need a mentor and a daily devotional can be just the ticket. It reminds them daily of the Lord's love for them, no matter what.
Each one of these devos has its base scripture a short lesson for the day and a prayer. There is even a place to write down some thoughts, color or doodle. It is a great devotional for a young preteen girl and it makes the perfect gift.
**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the author. All opinions are my own.
