Disclosure: This book was sent to me for my honest review from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
About the Book:
The only thing Bri
Duval loves more than baking petit fours is romance. So much so, she's
created her own version of the famous Parisian lovelock wall at her
bakery in Story, Kansas. She never expects it to go viral--or for Trek
Magazine to send travel writer Gerard Fortier to feature the bakery.
He's definitely handsome, but Bri has been holding out for a love story
like the one her parents had, and that certainly will not include the
love-scorned-and-therefore-love-scorning Gerard.
Just when it
seems Bri's bakery is poised for unprecedented success, a series of
events threaten not just her business but the pedestal she's kept her
parents on all these years. Maybe Gerard is right about romance. Or
maybe Bri's recipe just needs to be tweaked.
Novelist Betsy St.
Amant invites you to experience this sweet story of how love doesn't
always look the way we expect--and maybe that's a good thing.
My Review:
Anyone that knows me, knows I love to bake. So fiction books about bakeries are at the top of my reading book list. I have always wanted to own my own bakery. Huge score for me to get to read about Bri Duval and to get the chance to live virtually through her.
Bri Duval, is all about creating baked goods that literally cause you to slap yourself. They are just that good. Good to eat, good to smell. Just heaven in cake form. Bri has this great idea to create something in her bakery that is similar to the lovelock wall in Paris. And it turns out to be a big hit amongst her customers. Bri is a little sidetracked by the travel writer that is sent to interview her about this great addition to her bakery. But she immediately snaps herself back to attention. He is handsome but he is probably lacking what she truly wants in romance, most men are anyway. Why should Gerard be any different?
Its not long before the bakery is threatened in a very big and unexpected way. Will Bri have what it takes to stick it out? And is there more to Gerard than meets the eye?
