About the Book:
This picture book from a child
psychologist and counselor uses a touching and relatable story about a
young boy’s grief to help children 4-8 understand what it means to lose a
loved one and how to process their own emotions of fear, grief, and
joyful remembrance.
When Grandma tells Lee she will
soon be “going home,” Lee is confused. Isn’t Grandma already home? But
as Grandma’s health gets worse and her death approaches, Lee learns what
it means to “walk Grandma home” to heaven, while also reflecting on his
good memories and dealing with his grief alongside his extended
family.
My Review:
Grief is so incredibly difficult and throw a sweet child's fragile heart in the mix and it is about a thousand more times difficult. Absolutely nothing about it is easy. Nothing! That is whats so great about a children's book that can help our little one's through such a hard time.
This picture book takes the child step by step in a way that is easier on their hearts and minds and helps with explaining things to them.
This book will most definitely help walk your child through some of the questions and concerns that they may have. It will likely lead to a good discussion about death and going to Heaven.
**Disclosure**This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
