Review:The Christmas I'll Never Forget by:David C. Reyes
About the Book:
Young Luke desperately wants a horse to call his very own. But as his brother 's health steadily grows worse with an unknown illness, what their lives really need is a miracle. Having to do all the chores around the ranch, Luke feels that life is being a little unfair. To add to this, he is being asked to work for a local stable to provide the income needed to enjoy the Christmas holiday. As he works by the sweat of his brow, he soon forms a close bond with one of the horses. Will Luke finally receive the gift he so desperately wants, or will this be his brother's last Christmas? As all these things culminate on Christmas day, Luke will learn a valuable lesson of God's ultimate plan for their lives.
My Review:
Christmas vacation is suppose to be a fun time for a child. At least when I was a child this was the case. But unfortunately that wasn't the way it was for Luke Dawson one particular year. This year he felt like the entire world was against him and his family. Luke and his family had a few farm animals they use to sustain their family. But what really helped them through was Luke's father's job, but this year that was even hit and miss. But this one particular winter it was taking all his parents could do to even put food on the table. Not to mention the fact that Luke's brother, Benny was deathly ill and noone could explain why.
So to help the family out for Christmas Luke went to work at the local feed store to take care of the horses. He doing there what he loved the most, taking care of the owners horses. At the beginning of the book Luke is very worried that what his father shared with him in confidence will come true. That this is indeed his brothers last Christmas. While his father is sharing this thought with him, they both decide that they will make this the Christmas Benny will never forget.
Come and follow along with this family as they show us how they relied on the Lord to get them through something that only God can help us with.
**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the author.
