Review: When I Grow Up I Want to Be...A Veterinarian by:Wigu Publishing
About the Book:
Sofia wants to care for all the animals in the world. But Mom does not think Sofia is ready for the responsibility of even one pet. Ready or not, when a hungry and sick-looking cat appears at the family’s back doorstep, Sofia takes action. When Sofia is found feeding the cat, Mom gives in and agrees that a trip to the vet will tell them if the cat is healthy and not someone’s lost pet. As the veterinarian introduces Sofia and readers to the important and wide-ranging work of animal doctors, Sofia learns how she might help all kinds of animals, including a little stray cat!
My Review:
Sofia loves animals and it seems that by all costs talking her mother into her getting a pet is failing. Failing, that is until a lonely, hungry cat shows up on her doorstep. Sofia begins to care for this cat and as she does so, her mother finds her and decides to take the cat to the vet to be checked out. Sofia tags along on the visit to the Veterinarian's office and learns so much! She learns that there is a career out there for someone like her that cares for animals as much as she does.
A good way to get your child to discover all the careers that are out there is to introduce them to the When I Grow Up I Want to Be... series of children's books. Wigu Publishing researches different career choices and gives your child all there is to know on said career. Each book is carefully researched and provides tons of information, written in a format that any child would understand. These books are usually geared for 9 yrs and up and there is a glossary provided to help children with anything that they didn't quite understand.
**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the publisher.
