Review: When I Grow Up I Want to Be...in the U.S. Army! by:Wigu Publishing
About the Book:
When Jake’s teacher assigns a “career” project, Jake decides he wants to be a soldier in the United States Army. Jake and his father visit an Army surplus store to find items he can use to present his project. As they search the store, each item makes the history and proud spirit of the U.S. Army come to life for Jake and readers alike. Through Jake’s discoveries, readers are introduced to the history of the U.S. Army, what soldiers’ duties include, and the equipment they use.
My Review:
Jake's teacher creates a career project to motivate her students to consider what they may want to be when they grow up. Jake's decision is a very prestigious one in which he wants to become a soldier in the U. S. Army. After Jake and his father visit an Army Surplus store to get items for his career project, Jake is introduced to more than he could of ever imagined.
A good way to get your child to discover all the careers that are out there is to introduce them to the When I Grow Up I Want to Be... series of children's books. Wigu Publishing researches different career choices and gives your child all there is to know on said career. This addition to the series, is actually the second edition--so it seems becoming a soldier in the U. S. Army is a very popular choice. And so it should be! Each book is carefully researched and provides tons of information, written in a format that any child would understand. These books are usually geared for 9 yrs and up and there is a glossary provided to help children with anything that they didn't quite understand.
**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the publisher.
