In Growing Great Kids, Kate Battistelli shares what she and her husband, Mike, learned about parenting during the journey of raising their daughter-Dove Award-winning recording aritst Francesca Battistelli. Using anecdotes to illustrate the insights she and her husband gained, she provides practical advice including:

My Review:
Being a parent is probably the hardest job in the world. The only guide book you get for the job is the Bible. I am so thankful that on our daily journey with our children we can rely on God. No matter how many times we need to ask for help. No matter how many times we fail. And no matter how many times we ask for forgiveness. He is our ROCK. Kate's book is a good guide into helping you do all you can as a parent to help you and them realize God's dream for their lives. My daughter is 15 and several years ago she felt she was being called into the mission field. And as Kate lets us in on her experience with her daughter and how her success came about. My experience was much like hers in the fact that when my child told me what God was leading her to do it wasn't a surprise to me. God had told me many years prior to that that my child would be in the ministry and for me not to worry.
I spent many days and nights before that crying out to God for my children's lives. That he would cover them and lead them. Being a parent and knowing at some point you have to let your children go out into the big, scary world is very disheartening. I was terrified and still am at the notion. So God and I talk frequently about my children and the paths that they are on. I feel like if I ingrain God as much as I can into their very soul everything else will fall into place. And yes I am aware that that's not always the case but with God I can't go wrong so I am willing to stake everything on him.
This book will really get you to thinking about doing all you can in every realm to help you help your child stay on the path that God has chosen for them. It is a really great read.
