I trusted my children to make some non-edible cinnamon Christmas ornaments recently. We had never done this before so I thought it would something fun to do. And I figured the cinnamon scent wafting through the house couldn't hurt either. I think they did a pretty good job considering.
We took the recipe from our Not Just Beans Cookbook that I had purchased several years ago. The recipe is on their website here. I think overall they turned out pretty well. I wanted to use a different ribbon but this red ribbon is all I had on hand.
We used to make these when I taught preschool "way back when". Your house smells soooo good now doesn't it?

Those turned out great. My kids had fun making similar ones last year, but ours were not that smooth. (Maybe they played with the dough too much.)
