Review:I Am Ruth by:Duff/Berg
About the Book:
The life of biblical heroine Ruth is presented in a breathtaking collection of photos! More than just a simple love story, I Am Ruth is about courageously facing life after loss, rediscovering faith, and fearlessly placing yourself and your future in God's loving hands.
About the Author:
Brenda Duff has worked for Liberty University and Daystar Television Network. She is currently on staff at Berg Productions and has worked closely with Ken Berg for over 10 years. Ken Berg gave her the chance to learn about film production by allowing her to assist him on shoots. He also gave her a chance to express her enthusiasm about certain topics by giving her the opportunity to write some copy for his website and other projects. It turns out that research and writing are a good combination for her. She will always appreciate his encouragement.
My Review:
The story of Ruth and her diligence to remain by her mother in laws side even though nothing should hold her there, is something that baffles me. Why would she stay if her husband had passed away?
Even after everything that befallen the two women, Ruth stayed by Naomi's side. Ruth and Naomi were both descendents of Abraham and Lot and just like the two of them, these women traveled back to the Promised Land. The two of them were welcomed there and not long after arriving Ruth set out to earn something for their household. And as she did she met the man that would eventually become her husband, Boaz.
This book with its amazing photography was nothing short of breathe taking. The photos were taken in the Holy Land very close to where the actual events took place some 3,000 years prior. The book also contains the Biblical account of the story of Ruth and also the author explaining in more detail for a better understanding.
