Litfuse Review:Just One More Thing Before You Leave Home by:D. Gudgel

Just One More Thing: Before You Leave Home
About the Book:
Is your teen successfully prepared to leave home? Just One More Thing is filled with practical advice to help teens transition out of the house and into the rest of their life. In the book, the Gudgels use stories, perspectives, and dialogues to discuss 30 indispensable topics to help teens survive on their own, including: worldview, financial challenges, use of time, career moves, moral dilemmas, sex, painful experiences, and spiritual life, among others. Written from a Biblical perspective, the book is more of a guide to making good decisions than a lecture on how to live. It's perfect for a parent and teen to go over together or to give as a thoughtful gift. This is a book they'll reference for years to come.

About the Author:
Dr. Dave Gudgel currently serves as the Lead Pastor of Bridges Community Church in Los Altos, CA. Dave loves to teach, play golf, and travel. He and his wife Bernice have three children, two daughter-in-laws, and five adorable grandchildren. Dave has been a pastor for thirty years and a faculty member of Walk Thru the Bible Ministries for the past twenty five years. As an author, Dave has written four books: Owner’s Guide to Using Your Bible, Before You Live Together, Before You Get Engaged and recently Just One More Thing: Before You Leave Home.

My Review:
All parents at that dreaded point of their child leaving home, hope that we equip them well enough for the world out there. The author and his family are no different they wanted to make sure their children knew where they stood as they offered Biblically based advice on everything from choosing room mates to love to the ever challenging spending that all young people struggle with there first time away from home.

The authors are very in depth and helpful and have created the perfect example for every parent to go by when sharing this book and counseling their child. The authors have created a list of 30 common topics and then shared these with their three children to create a talking point with them. The author approached it as a meal shared with his children so that each of them knew where the other stood on each of the topics but he also used it as a gateway to teach them.

This book is the perfect help for parents. A real must read!

**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from Litfuse Publicity.
