Review&Giveaway: The First Christmas Night by:Keith Christopher

The First Christmas Night
About the Book:
A lyrical retelling of the birth of Christ modeled after 'Twas the Night Before Christmas.' Here is a beautiful retelling of the birth of Jesus on that joyous night in Bethlehem so long ago. The poem begins with the arrival of Mary and Joseph in Bethlehem through Christ's birth, the angels' appearance to the shepherds, and the visit by the Wise Men. The simple, yet elegant, verses will appeal to little ones and are accompanied by the rich oil illustrations of Christine Kornacki. Ages 4-8.

My Review:
With beautiful prose and extraordinary illustrations, The First Christmas Night, is presented in a very touching way. Following along the same lines as the very popular Christmas poem, 'Twas The Night Before Christmas, this version is all about our Savior Jesus and all that the meaning of this season encompasses.

The real reason for Christmas is the birth of our Savior not a man in a red suit. So as your child reads through this version or is being read to he or she will learn that there was a baby boy born in a manger that was a king sent to love us, care for us, and save us. So as they remember the Christmas season and all that it is about, that Jesus' miraculous birth will be remembered at the heart of it all.

This book is suitable for ages 4-8 and can be purchased at this link. This can be used at home or church and its very family friendly. Perfect for the holidays!

The story of Jesus' birth is timeless and the illustrations are breathtaking. The words that the author uses are a special way to remind our children and to keep them focused on the real reason for the season. Now is your chance to enter to win a copy of this book for your very own. Good Luck!
