Review: Merlin's Shadow by:Robert Treskillard

Merlin's Shadow (The Merlin Spiral #2)
About the Book:
Author Robert Treskillard continues his Merlin Spiral series with book two, Merlin's Shadow, another fresh take on the ancient Arthurian myths. After destroying the sinister Druid Stone and freeing his people from its dark control, Merlin finds himself a royal advisor without a king. Along with his friend Garth, and Natalenya, his betrothed, Merlin treks north with the orphaned Arthur in hopes of keeping the young king safe from soldiers misled by their turncoat captain. As the threat on all their lives increases, Merlin discovers their only hope is sailing to the lands of eternal darkness, and once again cleansing the world from an ancient and powerful evil.

About the Author:
Robert Treskillard has been crafting stories from his early youth, and is a software developer, graphic artist, and sometime bladesmith. He and his wife have three children and are still homeschooling their youngest. They live in the country near St. Louis, Missouri.

My Review:
Merlin crept up behind a small a boulder, staring at the snoring mound on the ground. The person had steadily been following them and they didn't know who he was. The person seemed so interested in him and basically knew where all they would be traveling. Who was this person? And what was he after? Merlin was sent to advise a great king, only to find out when he got there, the king was murdered. Now with no king and a murder, Merlin sets out to find the man who caused this great catastrophe.

He's faced with many things along the way from eternal darkness to an evil power. Merlin isn't even sure he'll make it out alive, much less still in one piece. But when a girl he treasures so dearly comes down with a powerful disease, he is forced to make some life altering decisions. Not even sure she'll make it through, he'll do anything to save her.

This book is a continuation of the author's first book in the series. An awesome book with strong story line and vivid characters.

In conjunction with the CSFF Blog Tour, I received a free copy of this book from the publisher.
