Review: Gods at War by:Kyle Idleman

Gods at War Student Edition: The battle for your heart that will define your life
About the Book:
In this student edition of gods at war, Kyle Idleman, bestselling author of not a fan, helps us recognize there are false gods at war within each of us, and they battle for the place of glory and control in our lives. What keeps us from truly following Jesus Christ is that our hearts are pursuing something or someone else like money or popularity. While these pursuits may not be the 'graven images' of old, they are in fact modern day idols. Behind the sin you're struggling with, the fear you're dealing with, the lack of purpose you're living with is a false god that is winning the war for your heart.

About the Author:
Kyle Idleman is the Teaching Pastor at Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky, the fourth largest church in America. He is the author of the award-winning and best-selling book not a fan. He is also the presenter of several video curricula, including not a fan, H2O, and the newly released study gods at war.

My Review:
In Kyle Idleman's new book, he tells us of the many things that cause us to fall away from God. Whether you think something is capable of being idolized by you or anyone else, it can easily be seen as a false god to both God and other Christian followers.  You may not even notice it or if you do, you go into denial and push everyone who cares for you away, even though they are only trying to help. Kyle tells us of the countless individuals that also struggle with the same problem. Not only does he tell us their stories but he also tells us how they handled it, how they failed ,and later came to him. He also tells us of how God helped them and they were changed, and how God can help us too.

I love how Kyle seemed to be so down to earth with us, he was also funny. Although a few people thought the footnotes at the end of some pages were useless, I didn't, I really enjoyed reading each one. I found it amazing how he explained each problem objectively and how in the end the problem was solved. Kyle Idleman is an amazing writer and he has a way with his words. Each chapter was easy to understand and was just as interesting as the next.

**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the publisher.
