Review: You Can Draw Bible Stories for Kids by:Sandy Silverthorne

You Can Draw Bible Stories for Kids
About the Book:
Would you like to help the children in your life make a deeper connection with God through the Bible? Professional actor and illustrator Sandy Silverthorne provides short and often humorous accounts that will grab kids' attention and keep them engaged in some of the greatest stories of the Bible.

But more than that, this book shows young readers, ages 7 to 11, how to easily create their own illustrations. As they practice the simple, step-by-step instructions drawing various Bible characters, animals, and other objects, they will interact with each story, in a way that makes it personal and memorable.

About the Author:
Sandy Silverthorne has been writing and illustrating books since 1988. His award-winning Great Bible Adventure children's series sold more than 180,000 copies and has been distributed worldwide in eight languages. He's worked with Focus on the Family, Universal Studios, and the Charlotte Hornets.

My Review:
I can't draw or paint. I don't know why just never have been able to be creative in that area. I recently started teaching a Sunday school class at my church and lucky for me those children are only 3 and 4 years old. Lucky, because it doesn't really matter to them if I can draw or not, but I wanted to learn how to get a little better at it and hopefully be able to teach them a little something, as well. The author has some of the most popular Bible stories and shown us how to draw some pictures to go along with them. There are 18 different stories mentioned along with some bonus drawing how-to's at the end of the book.

First of all the book is really small but perfect for small hands to hold. Each story has the scripture listed, along with a story summary, devotional type lesson, and then finally the drawing lesson. These drawings are pretty simple, they are really just a few steps past stick drawings, so nothing too complicated and its Bible based---so there is nothing wrong with that. My two older boys were done with the book in a matter of days and they liked that it was simple and right to the point. We really enjoyed this one!

**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from Harvest House.
