Review: The Princess Within: For Teens by:Serita Ann Jakes
About the Book:
Serita Jakes adapts her bestselling "The Princess Within" message for teen girls, offering young women hope and a new understanding of their true beauty in God's eyes.
About the Author:
Serita Ann Jakes has been involved in Christian ministry all of her adult life and has served alongside her husband, Bishop T. D. Jakes, throughout their marriage. In addition to raising three sons and two daughters, she has assumed an active role at The Potter's House of Dallas, where her husband serves as senior pastor. First Lady Jakes is in demand by women's organizations nationwide as a celebrated speaker on issues concerning marriage and family.
My Review:
Now not only can the "mom" of the family find her true worth in her fathers eyes, the young teen girls in the family can find hers as well. Serita Jakes, wife of TD Jakes has written a book to help the teen girl in your life to see the worth in herself that God sees in her. Spiritually we find ourselves always second guessing every move we make and after awhile we believe what we tell ourselves or the opinions of others. Our Father sees a side that noone sees and He wants you to focus on lifting that up. Teenagers already have a hard time with all the insecurities they feel to all the strange bodily functions going off in their bodies---its no wonder that they seem so mixed up.
Mrs. Jakes tells us that its normal to feel that way but we must rely on God not our feelings and ask for His help in the matter. She encourages and inspires the young women through Bible commentary geared especially towards them. Through Biblical lessons, scripture, ponderings, and journal writings she proves their worth through God's eyes. This devotional style read is helpful and encouraging!
**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from Bethany House.
