Review: The Toothless Tooth Fairy by:Shanelle Hicks
About the Book:
Bella had it all. The hair, the dress, and the smile. One day, her most important asset was missing...her tooth! Will Bella find the perfect tooth in time for the contest? Will Zelda, the meanest of the fairies, destroy Bella's chances of winning the crown? Take a journey onto Cloud Nine as Bella searches for a new tooth only to discover the tooth...I mean truth...behind her true beauty.
My Review:
The Toothless Tooth Fairy, is a sweet children's book specifically geared towards the 3-9 age group. It is a delightful story about the tooth fairy's job and how difficult it can be sometimes to find the perfect tooth. Bella has a contest to compete in and right before the contest she loses her tooth. It is typical, isn't it? A girl has it all together until the final moment and then everything falls apart. Well....it doesn't really fall apart but it certainly feels like it.
In our world these days our children specifically have to deal with bullies in one way or another. But after being confronted by Zelda's act of cruelness, Bella treats her with true grace as any friend would. I really loved the premise of the story---girls love fairy stories! But I really enjoyed Bella showing us all that, in the face of adversity we should still be kind and try to resolve our problems without any sort of revenge. The illustrations in the book were just beautiful to go along with a perfect story!
