Review: A Promise To Protect by:Patricia Bradley
About the Book:
Acting Sheriff Ben Logan hasn't heard from Leigh Somerall in a very long time, but it doesn't mean he can get her--or their whirlwind romance of ten years ago--out of his head. When she calls out of the blue, it is with a strange request to protect her brother, Tony. When Tony dies just days later, Ben is charged with a different task--protecting Leigh and her nine-year-old son, TJ, from the killers. But how can Ben keep an eye on Leigh if she's doing everything in her power to avoid him? And could the secret that Leigh is keeping change Ben's life forever?
Suspense, intrigue, and a touch of romance make A Promise to Protect perfect for readers who like their stories with a hearty dose of mystery.

My Review:
Sheriff Ben Logan had promised to protect Leigh Somerall as she sat holding her fatally wounded brother. With the death of Leigh's brother weighing heavily on is mind, Ben Logan tries very hard to keep his end of the deal by protecting Leigh and her son.
As if her brother, Tony, getting killed wasn't enough Leigh finds herself involved in a series of break-ins and shootings. Not only does she have to keep both herself and her son alive; she has to also keep a huge secret that could change her life as well as Ben's
Soon her home is set ablaze, causing Ben to want her even closer to him so he can protect her. Leigh gets the strange idea to not let Ben protect them any longer. She believes she will never be safe again. She can't figure out why the people that killed her brother want her dead too.
A Promise To Protect, is a high stakes mystery. In this action filled book it is difficult to decide who to trust. Patricia Bradley keeps you holding on till the end to see if Leigh and Ben act on their feelings toward one another.
**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from Revell.
