Review: Bible Favorites:One Sentence Storybooks by:Nancy I. Sanders
About the Book:
This set of 10 delightful mini books will help beginning readers recognize basic vocabulary words while learning about 10 favorite Bible stories. These creative books teach reading in the strongest way possible using repetition in a way that draws children in and brings them joy. The last word of each sentence part in the story is the featured vocabulary word on that page for a total of four featured vocabulary words for each mini book. Each page builds on the previous one both in art and text. The final illustration is always the whole scene of the story, giving an understanding of the sentence as a whole.
My Review:
I have to say, I love this little collection of books! Perfect for little hands!
Each box includes a set of 10 small booklets perfect for tiny preschool hands. Each booklet speaks in simple words with word building sentences perfect for young learners. Bible Favorites:One Sentence Storybooks is geared for the 3-5 age group. The illustrations are just as sweet as the books are. My four year old son was happy to "help" mommy read the books. We read them together aloud and he seemed very happy learning what each book was about.
There is a vocabulary safe for four words per booklet. The ending illustration shows the complete sentence as well as complete illustration. Based completely upon scripture, there is also a verse and prayer included as well. Each booklet is entitled as follows:
The Sun and Moon
Two Mice and the Ark
Moses and the Bush
David and the Giant
The City Wall
The Star and the Kings
Jesus on the Water
The Good Shepherd
The Sad Son
The Angel and the Cave
This little book set is the perfect gift for a preschooler or early reader! It introduces them to the broad world of reading as well as Bible reinforcement.
**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from Tyndale Blog Network.
