About the Author:
Amazon best-selling author Cathy Bryant writes Christian fiction set in the heart of Texas. Her popular romance and romantic suspense novels take place in the fictional town of Miller's Creek, where folks are friendly, the iced tea is sweet, and Mama Beth's front porch beckons. Her debut novel, TEXAS ROADS, was a 2009 ACFW Genesis finalist. Since then five other stand-alone novels--all Amazon Kindle best-sellers--have been added to the series, one of which was a reader-nominated 2013 Grace Award nominee (PILGRIMAGE OF PROMISE). Readers have compared her work to that of Karen Kingsbury and Nicholas Sparks. A native Texan, Cathy currently resides in the beautiful Sangre de Cristo mountains of northern New Mexico with her minister husband of over thirty years. She's written devotions for The Upper Room devotional magazine, two devotional books, and for online sites. She also has released a Bible study booklet, THE FRAGRANCE OF CRUSHED VIOLETS. In addition to her writing, she enjoys thrift store shopping, romping in the great outdoors, and mini-farming.

My Review:
Mara Hedwig, a divorced single mother, fills her life with just her daughter and work. Running her own real estate company has become quite difficult, since not many people are looking for homes. With her life already filled to the rim, Mara isn't the least bit pleased when a man calls her up looking for a home but gives no details in what he wants. As she races to her office, late as ever, she meets Carter Callahan.

Carter Callahan is a handsome ex-military operative, struggling to raise his rebellious teenage daughter. He meets Mara Hedwig and believes that she is both pretty and completely irritating. Meeting Mara's daughter, he falls in love with her almost immediately, but he feels as if somethings wrong. Carter invites them both to a picnic and to church sending atheist Mara haywire. He soon decides his best objective would be to pray for the woman he finds so intriguing. When they all go on a picnic, the most unexpected thing happens, landing them in the ER.

Mara learns that her daughters Leukemia has come back. But knowing her daughter needs any strength she can give her; Mara decides to play tough, instead of curling up into a ball like she wishes so very bad to do. Carter is there when she receives the news and he knows he must help them both in anyway possible, even if it makes Mara completely uncomfortable. As time seems to be running out, Carter knows he must find a way to help Mara once again have faith.

Crossroads is a marvelous book, giving you an in-depth look into the life of single-parents. The author did a brilliant job with this incredibly inspiring book!

**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the author.
