This week, the

is introducing
When Hope Rises
Pelican Book Group (May 2015)
by
Dora Heirs

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

After a successful auditing career, Dora left the corporate world to be a stay-at-home mom to her two sons. When her youngest son no longer wanted her hanging out at school with him anymore, Dora started writing Heart Racing, God-Gracing romance. She is a member of Romance Writers of America (RWA) and her local chapter, Carolina Romance Writers.

Dora and her real life hero make their home in North Carolina. When she takes a break from cranking out stories, she enjoys reading, family gatherings, and mountain cabin getaways. She despises traffic, bad coffee, technological meltdowns, and a sad ending to a book. Her books always end with a happily-ever-after!

ABOUT THE BOOK

Art teacher Shelby Coltman transforms junk into treasure and longs for a place to showcase her creations. She’s thrilled when her friend volunteers to room with her. Shelby can finally buy a storefront. Unfortunately, Kennedi’s brother can't seem to let go.

Abandoned as a teenager, guidance counselor Tate Malone has become surrogate and over-protective father to his sister. Life is great until Shelby Coltman wheedles his impressionable sister into sharing an apartment. Raised in wealth, the beautiful Shelby could never understand poverty or rejection, and Tate doesn't appreciate her uprooting his sister. When Shelby hands over her savings to a homeless student, will God obliterate Tate's fears and deliver all of Shelby’s dreams...when hope rises?

My Review:
Shelby Coltman worked hard for where she is now and she isn’t willing to let a thing stop her. Being an art teacher for the local high school, she sees many students succeeding but one draws her attention most of all. The boy has a talent greater than any one she has ever seen, and she can’t allow him to squander it.

Tate Malone, a guidance counselor for the local high school, has seen it all. He was a homeless teenager, alone in the world. As he got older he decided that if he had the chance, he wouldn’t let any other teenager go through what he did. So when the pretty Shelby Coltman comes to him for help, he agrees almost immediately. But he has one small problem.

Shelby has always wanted to sell the things she makes out of random objects, so when she sees a storefront, at her exact asking price. She jumps at the chance, but the only kicker is she needs a room-mate. So who greater to move in than her best friend.

Tate doesn’t expect his sister to come home and tell him she is moving out. He definitely doesn’t like the idea of her moving in with her best friend. Even if her room-mate is Shelby.

As everything comes to a head, Tate will have to learn to let go. And Shelby will discover miracles happen in the strangest of ways.

When Hope Rises is an amazing story, with tons of adventure. I enjoyed Dora Heirs, wonderful writing. I do hope to read another one of her amazing books!
