Review: Miles from Nowhere by:Amy Clipston

Miles from Nowhere
About the Book:
Her heart, her dreams… or none of the above?

Chelsea Morris has always been responsible, dependable, and focused on her dreams of fashion design, a dream that will officially begin come fall, when she leaves for college in New York City. As she settles into her role as the lead designer for the local summer stock theater group, she decides to make the most of her last summer in North Carolina. But with her best friend Emily busy working late and spending time with Zander, and tensions with Chelsea's boyfriend, Todd, running high, the summer she envisioned seems to be falling flat.

Then Dylan joins the latest summer production. There's something about the college boy that makes her feel free and alive, and soon she's broken up with Todd, and is sneaking out late to meet Dylan at parties and breaking rules at the playhouse. But before she knows it, her exciting nights are interfering with her job, her role on the play, as well as her relationship with Emily and with her parents. Worse, Chelsea finds herself feeling more and more estranged from God.

As the summer becomes wilder than she ever dreamed, Chelsea must decide if her heart is leading her in the right direction after all."

My Review:
Chelsea Morris has always been the good girl, always polite and responsible. With her dreams having always been to be a fashion designer, she is determined to let nothing stand in her way. Her amazing boyfriend, Todd, is always by her side no matter what. Chelsea decides to take her last summer before college to help with a local production of at the Playhouse, a summer stock theater group. As the costumer for the production, all seems to be going as planned, until a new boy shows interest in her.

The boy, Dylan, begins inviting her to his parties. Chelsea soon starts feeling pressured to go no matter what. She starts going to his parties with out Todd there, saying she has no time for him being boring.  She begins being late for work, and falling behind on things, that she had been so on top of before. All of a sudden everything is slowly falling apart. When she begins to drink alcohol while at Dylan's parties, she feels all grown up until the next morning, where she can barely get out of bed.

Chelsea just wants to be included in the popular crowd and she feels no one understands that. Todd wants her to see what's happening to her and what's Dylan's trying to pull. Will she see it before it's to late?

Amy Clipston is an amazing author and I love reading her books. Miles from Nowhere is a wonderful book about the effects of peer pressure. I can’t wait to see what the author has in store next!
