Litfuse Review: A Heart's Betrayal by:Colleen Coble
About the Book:
Emmie finds shelter in the arms of a soldier, but her secret could drive them apart.
When Emmie Croftner answered the door to her late husband's home, she discovered a terrible truth. A woman she's never met reveals that she and Emmie shared the same husband and that the bigamist had never divorced his first wife. The home and farm are not Emmie's property after all.
Suddenly displaced and powerless, Emmie realizes she can't stay in Wabash, Indiana, any longer. She makes for Fort Laramie, Wyoming, where her friend Sarah Montgomery and a new beginning await her. But when she arrives, she discovers she's carrying a child, conceived before her husband's death. Was the new start she'd hoped for only a mirage?
At Fort Laramie, a soldier named Isaac Liddle begins to court Emmie, prompting her to wonder whether she could ever really be his--and whether she dares to tell him she is carrying another man's baby.
My Review:
Emmie Croftner was once happily married, but three months after their wedding her husband, Monroe is ran over by a wagon and killed. With grief overcoming her, she believes it can’t get any worst. But all to soon she learns it can get way worst, when she learns that her husband is a bigamist, with a wife and child, that has been waiting for him to come home. Everything she knows is soon stripped from her, and she finds herself aboard a train heading west to help the very pregnant Sarah Montgomery.
Isaac Liddle, a sweet handsome solider, only want’s to help everyone. When he lays eyes on Emmie, he believes he’s never laid eyes on someone so beautiful. He wishes only to help Emmie to be happy and taken care of. But little does he know, what she has been through much less what’s to come.
A Heart’s Betrayal is book 4 in the Journey of the Heart series. Colleen Coble does an amazing job in this wonderful book. I really enjoyed seeing Sarah Montgomery in another light. I grow to love each character the author adds and Emmie is no different. I am so ready for book 5 and 6 to come out. They are sure to be awesome!
**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from Litfuse.
