Review: If You Were Me and Lived In...China by:Carole P. Roman
My Review:
If you have read Carole Roman's books for any length of time, you will soon see just how informative they can be and especially how helpful they are in teach our children about those that live around us. The If You Were Me And Lived In series is a great series to teach children the cultural differences of other countries and it is written in a simple form that children can understand.
Naming your children in China has a great deal of significance, they choose a name with profound meaning. Wa-Wa means doll in Chinese. There are many artifacts and things of the like to see in China. For years people from foreign lands were not allowed in because of political ties. But now so many things are at your disposal if you would like to visit.
The Great Wall of China is an interesting attraction and it has been around for a very long time. It is a very long fence estimated to be 5,500 miles long. Different regions of China serve food or cook food differently. But if you ask me its all good. who doesn't enjoy Chinese food? YUM! The best treat in the entire world is ice cream and they serve it fried which sounds delicious.
A great teaching experiment in our home is to study each country or different culture in depth and then the finale would be to try some food cooked from that region. My family enjoys it and they learn so much more that way.
**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the author.
