ABOUT THE BOOK

Two murders have rocked the city of Houston. Are they the work of a serial killer, or is a copycat trying to get away with murder? That is the question facing Special Agent Bethany Sanchez, who is eager for her new assignment in violent crimes but anxious about meeting her new partner. Special Agent Thatcher Graves once arrested her brother, and he has a reputation for being a maverick. Plus, their investigative styles couldn’t be more opposite: he operates on instinct, while she goes by the book. When hot leads soon fizzle out, their differences threaten to leave them deadlocked. But an attempt on their lives turns up the heat and brings them closer together, and a third victim might yield the clue that will help them zero in on a killer. This could be the case of their careers . . . if they can survive long enough to solve it.

My Review:
Two women, totally different in age and looks, are found dead in their homes with a plastic toy scorpion lying on their chest. Both shot down in cold blood. With no one knowing who could have possibly done this, the FBI is called in.
Special Agent Bethany Sanchez is to begin her very first assignment and she is beyond excited. But never did she expect to meet her new partner at the crime scene of someone that has been murdered. Much less making introductions in front of the body. Though it may be exciting to finally be on the case, she knows they must get straight to work before the killer strikes again.
Special Agent Thatcher Graves is going to have to learn to like his new partner. She seems to jump straight in trying to learn more about what has happened, the only thing is she is new and unseasoned in the way he works. With a killer walking around, getting ready to strike again, Thatcher doesn’t have the time to babysit. Bethany needs to step up to the task and get real good and ready for what comes next.
Deadlock is book three in the FBI: Houston series. This book was an epic read that will leave you screaming for more. Having read the other books in this series, I found this book to be equally as awesome. I love this authors books and I can’t wait to see what she writes next.

**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from CFBA.
