Litfuse Review: And It Was Beautiful: Celebrating Life in the Midst of the Long Good-Bye by:Kara Tippetts
About the Book:
“I was here. I saw beauty. I embraced it.”
—Kara Tippetts
How do you live out extravagant love in the everyday moments? How do you celebrate grace when your life turns out differently than the one you dreamed?
Kara Tippetts discovered how to find joy in the small moments of life. She learned how to hold tight to hope even while battling intense physical and emotional pain. And she lived out the truth that God can redeem any story.
In her final book, Kara offers gentle reflections on living and dying well. She invites us to cultivate soft hearts even when we face great disappointment. Her ideas for living are hard-won, wrestled with in the crucible of family, illness, and faith. And her constant reminder is that whether we are in the midst of dark days or mundane moments Jesus is always there, life is surprisingly beautiful, and God is forever good.
My Review:
Kara is no longer with us but hearing her words are soothing to the soul. She maps out a guide to dying well. She was such an inspiration before her death and now afterwards, as well. When I read Kara's first book I hunted down her blog and became an avid reader. She was very encouraging and i would say she knew how to die well. She become a leading example as she battled and fought her way through this cancer that seemed to have beaten her. But in reality God won because it wasn't the cancer that had a voice it was God's voice resounding through her life and words that had the victory and all of us knew it as we followed her story.
Kara decided for her last book to share with us that God is not only with us when things are going well but He is there smack dab in the middle of the hard, as well. She showed us how to bridge the gap between her earthly home and her heavenly one and she did it in front of all of us and she did it with grace. She is a reigning example of how we all should be. Giving God all the glory.
For the author's last book, she did a fantastic job. I pray that all of her encouraging words earned her extra jewels in her crown!
**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the author.
