Litfuse Review: Mars...With Venus Rising by:Hope Daugherty

Mars...With Venus Rising
About the Book:
A meddling horse, paper bag floors and a flying saucer on the town square. The little town of Mars has it all--including a brand new resident who might spell heartache for one of its own.

Twenty-something Penn Davenport yearns for an exciting life in the big city and wants to shed the label of orphan that she's worn for years. To achieve that dream, she must pass the CPA exam then move away from the two aunts who reared her after her parents died in a plane crash.

When John Townsend-full of life and the joy of living-moves to town, he rattles Penn's view of herself, her life, and her dreams...which isn't such a bad thing until she falls for him... and discovers he's a pilot.

My Review:
Penn Davenport likes to play it safe, but one thing she longs to do is live in a big city working as a CPA. But first things first, she must pass the test. And to do that she must study, but telling her two wacky aunts that is like talking to a brick wall. They are just set on find her the love of her life, despite Penn's thoughts. But what else can she expect from them, after all they started raising her after her parents died in a plane crash.

Penn's aunts think they have found the perfect man. He's tall, dark, and handsome, he even rides a motorcycle. John Townsend is all about living life to the fullest. And when he gets to know Penn better, he feels he must help her to learn what life's really like. She begins to like everything about him, until she learns of his profession.

Penn knows it has been many years since her parents deaths and that she should have gotten over it by now, but she can't help but loathe the idea of John being a pilot. Can she ever get over John the idea of John's job and see how much he truly cares for her? Or will she let him go before she get's hurt again?

Mars...With Venus Rising was a wonderful book. I enjoyed reading it and thought it was pretty cool that the author included some recipes for different foods in the back that corresponded with the story. I also really loved the ending! I can't wait to see what this author writes next.

**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the author.
