Litfuse Review: Song of Silence by:Cynthia Ruchti

 Song of Silence
About the Book:
Lucy and Charlie Tuttle agree on one thing: they're committed to each other for life. Trouble is, neither of them expected life to look like this. While Charlie retired early, Lucy is devoted to a long-term career . . . until the day she has no choice.
Forced to retire from her position as music educator in a small Midwestern K-8 school, Lucy can only watch helplessly as the program her father started years ago disintegrates before her eyes. As the music fades and a chasm separates her from the passion of her heart, Lucy wonders if her faith's song has gone silent, too. The musical score of her life seems to be missing all the notes.
When a simple misstep threatens to silence Lucy forever, a young boy and his soundless mother change the way she sees--and hears--everything.

My Review:
Lucy Tuttle loves her job as a music teacher. It has filled her life with many years of joy and satisfaction. After a great concert, for all to see how well her students are doing, she believed it was going to be another great year. That is until she receives word that her position has been removed and they no longer have a need for a music educator. Cleaning the things out of her class and leaving behind her career, Lucy doesn’t know what to do now.

Charlie Tuttle, Lucy’s dear husband, wishes for nothing more than to help. After retiring himself, he has found a joy in everything he does, if only he can get her to feel the same. He feels that life has so much to offer her, despite how she feels. Lucy knows he means well, but how can he ever understand. She feels that her marriage is crumbling and her life is imploding on its self.

When Lucy begins to believe she is going to be completely alone in her misery, she is completely surprised when her two kids to move in. And little does she expect her life to be completely changed when she meets Sasha and Evan, a mother and son who are going to change her life forever.

Song of Silence is a wonderful book that will have you in tear one minute and laughing the next. I felt that when reading this author’s books you can place yourself in the character’s shoes. Which if you ask me, it’s pretty cool. I love this author’s books and enjoy how amazing she is with words.

**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the author.
