My Review:
Miranda Markham lost her husband in the Civil War just weeks before it ended. As if that wasn't bad enough, it seems all of Galveston, Texas is against her. They all believe that her dear husband was a traitor to the Confederates. And no matter how much she tries they all seem to hate her, they all try to make her life horrible and so far they have succeeded.
Robert Truax promised his friend; Phillip Markham, he would watch over his wife; Miranda, if he were to die. So with the war ended and his promise to fulfill he heads to Galveston, where he finds a town full of people against a Mrs. Miranda Markham. He knows that there is nothing right about this and he vows to do everything in his power to fix her reputation. But it seems the damage to her emotions is a lot worse than it appears and he may have a little more work ahead of him than he first expected.
In his duty to protect her, Robert holds a very dark secret about Miranda's husband, one that will that will disrupt her view of the man she loved so much.
The Loyal Heart is book one in the Lone Star Hero's Love Story series. This book was an amazing read and I loved every aspect of it. I love this author's work and I hope to read many more works from this author real soon.
