Review: A Tapestry of Secrets by:Sarah Loudin Thomas
About the Book:
This Decade-Spanning Novel of Family and Faith Will Delight
Now in her eighties, Perla Phillips has carried a secret since she was eighteen years old. When she sees her granddaughter, Ella, struggling for perfection, she decides to share her secret to show that God can use even the biggest mistakes for good. But before she can reveal what happened during that summer sixty years ago, she has a debilitating stroke.
Carrying a secret of her own, Ella arrives back in Wise, West Virgina, to help her aunt Sadie care for Perla. Both know the woman wanted to tell them something, but she's now locked in silence. Together they begin looking into the past, but they may learn more than they expected.
Will they have the courage to share their hearts? Or will the truth remain buried forever?
My Review:
What an exciting mystery to discover and unlock as you read along. It is a journey that the writer decides to takes us on so that it is like we are all learning as we go along. And honestly I like discovering hidden truths that way. Perla Phillips, is just a sweetheart! I loved this precious lady from the start and the writer relays the feelings of her characters perfectly because as I was reading along I felt the crushing defeat that this woman must of felt through the writers words.
The Tapestry of Secrets isn't really about things that a mother holds quietly in her heart for years then to just reveal all to a family that resents her for it. It is about a mothers love standing the test of time and her love for her children that has spans generations. A heart warming tale that is sure to make you cling to your own family even harder. I love the writing and absolutely fell in love with Perla. The authors words are perfectly written and her story line is flawless!
**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the author.
