It is kidsHeritage, Inc.'s mission to introduce children to their own heritages and to promote cultural awareness and acceptance through culturally-enriching, educational, unique keepsake books and products.
The above-mentioned mission statement is very
relevant in today's society. For generations, immigrants from
countries all over the world have flocked to America.
Retaining
their own cultures, while living and working next door to
families of different cultures, is a large part of what has made
this a great country. Yet, while children are surrounded by
different cultures, languages, customs, traditions, and food,
they rarely understand their own heritages, or from where these
differences arise. The more children understand about different
cultures, the more likely they are to see the similarities
inherent among them. Further, they will be more likely to
understand that we are all connected through a global
community-one that we should all embrace.

My Review:
Let me preface my review by saying that this is probably the best personalized books I have ever seen. Many of the ones you see on the market look like someone copied them on their own home computer printer. But not these books. They are beautifully bound, so I was very impressed. The process to make it all come together is fairly easy. You basically pick out your children's countries of origin and send Deanna a photo that you want included and with a few more easy steps you can share your children's ancestry with him or her.
I got a chance to review two of Deanna's products one was titled ABC's Around the World and the other was My Heritage Book. Our countries of origin are Germany, Ireland&Scotland. I chose to get these books personalized for our youngest Joshua. In My Heritage Book there is a note at the beginning addressed to Joshua from My husband and I. That just sort of tells him what is to come in the rest of the book. The book talks about America and a few things that make living in this beautiful country so great and there's some History thrown in as well.
Then the author starts to share with Joshua different things from each of the countries his ancestors originated from. It shows a map, a flag, some of the language of these unique countries. She also discusses some of the traditions as well as some of the delicious food. It is just a beautiful way to help our babies learn more about their families background. There is also places in the back of the book to record family traditions and a family tree diagram.
In the ABC's Around the World, there is a passport page. The passport page has a picture of your child along with his full name, date of birth, nationality, etc. This book goes through the alphabet naming countries and giving facts about each one along with pictures. You will find your child's name throughout several pages of the book. There are more fun facts included in the back of the book. By the end of the book your child will be congratulated because he is now a global citizen.
These two items are not the only items available at their website. So please feel free to take a look at the other products that they have here . And you can also view sample pages of the books here.
Joshua is only 2 but he enjoyed hearing his name mentioned and seeing his picture in the books. He loves anything talking about animals right now. So he was more than a little excited to see and hear about the animals in the books. As parents we want our children to learn more about where they come from and these items are a perfect way to introduce our children to an age old tradition that is quickly disappearing in our culture today.
**Disclosure** These products were provided to me for my honest review from the author.
