Review:Timothy A Little Fish With a Big Purpose by:Brad Riley
About the Book:
"Deep in his heart, Timothy believed everything that had just happened was some sort of miracle and that picking up the disk, simply to be obedient to his grandma, was part of a higher purpose. He wasn't sure what that purpose was, but what he did know was that he couldn't wait to tell his mom." Can God use the little things in our lives-our little acts of obedience-to serve a higher purpose? Can He do the same with "little people" who trust Him, too?
My Review:
The book Timothy A Little Fish With A Big Purpose is such a sweet, little children's book based on the story of Matthew 17:27. Where Peter was instructed to catch a fish with a coin in its mouth to pay the temple tax. Jesus performed a miracle that day and even a simple fish was a part of that. No matter how small our jobs for the Lord can sometimes seem that are always a part of a bigger picture.
The fish is named Timothy and it shows us the story from his perspective. And how even a little fish had a very important job to do that day. Each of us have a job to do for the Lord. He has given us all a duty and a purpose. It is up to us to be obedient and carry that out for the kingdom.
This little fish has a very similar life to that of Timothy that is mentioned many times in the Bible. The author did a fascinating job with the subject line. The story instantly drew my children in and made them want to learn more about the Bible story itself. I really enjoyed the colorful illustrations, they definitely made the book come alive even more.
