Review: The Blessings of Friendship Treasury by:Mary Engelbreit
About the Book:
The Blessings of Friendship, created by New York Times bestselling author and artist Mary Engelbreit, is a playful and poignant treasury of poetry, Bible verses, and quotes that celebrate the joy of friendship.
About the Author:
Mary Engelbreit grew up studying the illustrations in the vintage storybooks of her mother’s own childhood, and she developed a unique style that harkens back to those simpler times. Mary’s distinctive images have made her a celebrity to millions, who eagerly snap up gift items, calendars, books, fabrics, and more. Mary’s dearest wish has always been to illustrate for children. Her New York Times bestselling The Night Before Christmas is already part of the holiday tradition for families across the country.
My Review:
A sweet, simple treasury of poems and quotes all centered around the gifts and blessings of friendship. Some Bible verses are also included to round out the precious sentiments the author wishes to express. And in Mary Engelbreit fashion, the illustrations are so timeless&endearing, you can't help but smile as you turn each page.
The poem, Make New Friends is my favorite one from the book. Simply because of this passage:
"You have one hand, I have the other. Put them together, we have each other." Its listed as a children's book and is possibly the sweetest, most darling book to read to children. But I didn't want my boys touching it because it was simply too perfect and whimsical to leave in their hands. This book is a perfect coffee table book sure to delight any company, you may have over to your home.
**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the publisher.
