Author and speaker Cathy Elliott nourishes her night-owl habit by creating cozy mysteries and more on her trusty laptop in Anderson, California. Like the protagonist in her new mystery, Cathy is an avid quilter. Besides collecting (too much) cool fabric, she also enjoys hunting for antique treasures.
My Review:
Thea James owns her own antique business and she loves finding new ways to gain new customers. The Larkingdale's First Annual Quilt Show Extravaganza seemed liked a good idea at the time. But when Mary-Alice Wentworth, the town matriarch, is hurt and her beautiful brooch is stolen, Thea feels like the world is coming down around her.
As plans are made to go on with the show, Thea is relieved that everything is going her way for once. Everything seems to be falling into place, until a rare treasure of a quilt comes up missing. The quilt was the main attraction at this event, so this is definitely going to be a show stopper. With so few willing to help or in her way all the time, she must try to find the culprit and hand them over to the authorities. As the truth reveals itself, everyone is left stunned. Will the town of Larkindale ever be the same again?
Cathy Elliott has all the talents and abilities to write a very intriguing mystery novel. She did a very good job at keeping me guessing to the very end.
