Review: As Love Blooms by:Lorna Seilstad
About the Book:
Tessa Gregory is nothing if not tenacious. Denied a position as a horticulturalist at prestigious Como Park in Saint Paul, she is not above a little benevolent deception in order to get the park superintendent to change his mind and hire her. She plans to infiltrate the world of wealthy and influential people in hopes of drumming up financial support for a world-class conservatory. But before she can put those plans into action, she meets Reese King, a handsome gardener at Como Park--and a major distraction. Still, Reese might be the key to achieving her dream. But is his goal to help her . . . or to capture her heart?
Against a lush backdrop of early twentieth century Saint Paul, Minnesota, Lorna Seilstad weaves a sweet and sassy story that is sure to please. Tessa's young romance opens like a rose, stealing readers' hearts and filling their senses with the intoxicating fragrance of dreams come true.
My Review:
All Tessa Gregory wants, is to get a position as a horticulturist at Como Park in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Is that really to much to ask? But in 1913, I suppose it is. After getting turned down for the position by the prideful old man who is the park's superintendent, Tessa is unsure sure of what to do. One thing is he will defiantly not win this fight. She meets a nice, handsome man, who has a plan that may just help her.
Reese King's father is a well known park commissioner, and Reese just happened to follow in his dad's shoes. He does his best to please his boss at Como Park, but that man is kind of hard to please. When he meets the beautiful Tessa, he notices that she is dead on getting hired at the park, even if the superintendent does agree with a girl working at the park. Reese knows he should probably stay out of it, but there is something about Tessa that makes him want to help her more than anything else.
As Reese tries to help Tessa he will learn some things are more important than others. And maybe, just maybe he has other reasons for helping her. Tessa will discover love comes in the strangest of ways.
As Love Blooms is book 3 in The Gregory Sisters series. The author sure knows how to dish out an amazing story. The characters complement each other wonderfully. I just adore Lorna Seilstad's books and I will wait patiently for another!
