Review: The Day Is Waiting by:Don Freeman
About the Book:
Explains in verse some of the delights of a fine, free day: the view outside, places to go, and things to do with long, lazy hours.
My Review:
With very sweet childlike prose we are introduced to the main character a little boy that seems to have awakened to the world around him. The day is Waiting takes the reader by the hand and opens up the world to him in such a fascinating yet big way that by the end of the story home is actually the best loved place of all. Don Freeman should be a name you recognize because he is also the author of Corduroy, another famous well loved children's book. This book is perfect for the 4-8 age range. The illustrations are drawn in muted colors and very simple drawing. It is a sweet book full of promise and imagination.
**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review through my participation on the Z Blog Squad.
