ABOUT THE BOOK

Martha Cade comes from a long line of midwives who have served the families of Trinity, Pennsylvania, for generations. A widow with two grown children, she's hopeful that her daughter will follow in her footsteps, but when Victoria runs off, Martha's world is shattered.

Worse, a new doctor has arrived in town, threatening her job, and she can't remember a time when her faith has been tested more. Still determined to do the work she knows God intended for her, Martha is unprepared for all that waits ahead. Whether it's trying to stop a town scandal, mending broken relationships, or feeling the first whispers of an unexpected romance, she faces every trial and every opportunity with hope and faith.

My Review:
God's plans are almost completely different than the plans we sometimes have for ourselves. He takes our lives one by one and handcrafts them for His purpose. And usually we are ambivalent and sometimes downright stubborn when it comes to the notion in actually carrying that plan to fruition for the Kingdom. And so it goes in this story, The Midwife's Tale, Martha is shocked when the life that was so painstakingly laid out before seems to be in a back pedaling motion. When all these situations seem to hit her all at once, she begins to doubt the plans she has for herself and her daughter. Why doesn't God seem to be listening to her anymore? Why is all of this happening, when everything was so carefully laid out before her?

The author has written a lovely story that was a bit timid at first glance but ended fairly okay. The story was a complete one and very well rounded and seemingly smooth. I am left now waiting to see what will happen next, as this is book 1 in the series.

**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from CFBA.
