Litfuse Review: Keeper of the Stars by:Robin Lee Hatcher
About the Book:
She blames him for her brother's death. Can she let go of resentment and open her heart to love?
Penny Cartwright found it difficult to understand why her younger brother would choose to join a country singer’s band rather than return to Kings Meadow after college . . . and the separation strained their relationship. Then a car accident made certain her brother could never return.
Trevor Reynolds has chased stardom in Nashville for more than a dozen years, but it remains out of his reach. After an accident kills his young drummer, Trevor goes to Kings Meadow to keep a promise—and perhaps to discover what truly matters in this life.
Thrown together by circumstances, Penny and Trevor must learn to give and receive forgiveness. And if they do, perhaps something beautiful can rise from the ashes of heartbreak.
My Review:
16 year old, Penny Cartwright was beyond upset when her mother died of pneumonia. Her life and that of her brother and father’s were turned upside down. Life was hard to move on but no one ever expected this. At 28, Penny is now burying her dear brother. Her world becomes completely turned upside down and this time she isn’t upset, she is angry. On the day of the funeral her brother’s band mate and friend, Trevor Reynolds shows up unexpectedly. The minute she lays eyes on him, she knows she can never hate someone as much as she hates him.
Trevor Reynolds would have never shown up in Kings Meadow, if it weren’t for Brad Cartwright. If it weren’t for his promise to still come to this small town and meet Brad’s family. Now after Brad’s funeral, Trevor does his best to help the Cartwrights but apparently Penny just doesn’t like the idea. She of course, blames him but if only she knew how bad he blames himself for Brad’s death. Trevor knows without a doubt he is meant to be here, but why?
As everything and everyone seem to be trying to push them together, Trevor and Penny must learn how to live in the midst of a tragic death. And hopefully they will find the ultimate healing despite such a tragedy.
Keeper of the Stars is book three of the Kings Meadow Romance series. I love, love, love Robin Lee Hatcher’s books! I was so excited when I started reading this book and I promise you it was definitely and awesome read. This author sure knows how to write, if I do say so myself. I can not wait to read more of her books!
