Review: The Pug List by:Alison Hodgson

The Pug List: A Ridiculous Little Dog, a Family Who Lost Everything, and How They All Found Their Way Home
About the Book:
“What if a wheezing, sneezing, allegedly house-trained, ticking time bomb of an orphan pug is the key to helping a family feel at home again, after an arsonist set their house—and life—on fire? If you asked me, I would have said it’s a bad idea; we can do better. Unfortunately no one asked me, and The Pug List is my family’s story.”

In the fire’s aftermath of insurance battles royal, rebuilding plans, parenting in the face of life’s hard questions and a scorching case of post-traumatic stress, now is absolutely the worst possible time to adopt a dog. But to Alison’s seven-year-old daughter, Eden, it’s the perfect time—and The Relentless Campaign begins.

Until one day Alison peeks inside Eden’s diary—dubbed “The Pug List”—and realizes in one fell swoop that her girl’s heart is on the line, and resistance is futile (“The pugs make me happy FOREVER.”).

Enter “Outrageous” Oliver, and the hilarity, healing, and irresistible hope that follows.

My Review:
Alison Hodgson life was abruptly thrown upside down when an arsonist sets her home on fire. After barely escaping with their lives, the Hodgson’s stand on the street corner watching as their home is engulfed in flames. They find refuge in a relatives home where they are showered with love and care. Alison soon discovers that her and her husband aren’t the only one traumatized by the fire. She works to help her kids with their own PTSD, all while fighting with the insurance company and the building of their new home.

Alison’s seven year old daughter, Eden, has always wanted a pug. So when there is destroyed, she sets in hard and heavy on getting one. As Eden raises dollar after dollar for her pug fund, Alison worried about what they should tell her when she earns up enough. Alison takes a peek in Eden diary, aka her Pug List and finds that this little girl isn’t going to let up until she has that pug.

When Eden lays eyes on Oliver, there will be no going back.

The Pug List is an amazing book. This book will have you both crying and laughing. I really enjoyed reading this book. And I’m in love with pugs so I loved reading this book. I hope to see many more books from this author!

**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the author.
