About the Book:
Fresh Recipes for Each Season of the Year
Do you strive to eat what local, fresh, and in season? Then this is the
cookbook for you. Organized by the winter, spring, summer, and fall
seasons, there are a bounty of recipes for various ways to use up
seasonal fruits and vegetables. Sprinkled with tips for growing and
harvesting, too, the well-organized book boasts contributions from Amish
and Mennonites from across the United States who are fans of author of
Amish fiction, Wanda E. Brunstetter. Encased in a lay-flat binding and
presented in full color, it is a must-have cookbook for anyone who
gardens, participates in a CSA, or enjoys farmers’ markets.
My Review:
Who does not love a great cookbook?! Wanda Brunstetter is fast becoming one of my favorite in the cookbook genre. I already had her down as a favorite Amish fiction author, her fiction is the best ever! So if you ever have a chance to read anything she writes, you should go for it. On to this review.
This cookbook is a collection of recipes along with some the author has added of her own. The cookbook is divided into four seasons. It also has gardening tips which I love. It really has anything and everything that would appeal to any type of homemaker.
The cookbook includes over 200 recipes and they are mostly easy to a tiny bit difficult. The comb binding makes it easy to fold flat and is always my go-to for cookbooks.
This cookbook would make a great gift!
