Looking for a Family Lawyer?

Did you ever wonder what  family lawyers do and how they could ever help you in your time of need? Many lawyers that specialize in family law help you with child support claims, child visitation, even alimony if this is what your situation calls for. No one ever wants to have to go through those kind of links to get the things we decide are right for our family's needs. But sometimes we need to, so I'm glad we have people who are willing to help us out.
There are so many things that could go wrong with a marriage. You need someone who will walk you through the valleys of this devastating loss and help you to have some clarity about the situation. You need someone that knows exactly what they can do to help you through it. Hopefully once all of the emotional turmoil subsides things will get easier for everyone involved.

Review:Managing My Minutes: Do I Really Need To? by Lorrie Flem

This months Gabby Mom's review is all about routines and schedules. Bottom line all of our lives are best lived on schedules and routines. And if you really stop and think about it we have a lot of routines we do on a daily basis. Let's start with our mornings usually we wake up brush our teeth, maybe shower, and then head on to the kitchen to eat breakfast. Right there was a routine and we didn't have to try to hard to look for it.

In Lorrie's eBook she is trying to show us how we all can benefit from making and keeping a schedule no matter what  our living situation is. Whether you are a home schooling family or not. Whether your husband works a rotating schedule or you both work. You can actually set up several different schedules for different times. It is really not that difficult.

Lorrie's plan is to help you decide, decipher and decode what is best for your family. I mean come on she has to know a little bit about it. She is the mother of 8 children she has a little experience in the department of routines and scheduling.

Above all this is not something that the busy mom should take lightly. You should talk about it with your husband and family. And before anything else you should PRAY about it. Pray that the Lord will give you wisdom and perseverance to do what is best for your loved ones. Lorrie tells us then when we write it all down and start to schedule everything you will have the ability to see the important things more clearly.

Lorrie helped me to see that my husband's input may be very valuable to me and my scheduling. He may see something that I don't see. So it would never hurt to let a second set of eyes take a look.

As always you can find many products Lorrie has authored at her website. This e book is available at this link.

Review: Tugboat:My Voyage Out of Obesity by Cheryl Long

About the Ebook:
Cheryl Long decided to make a change. Hopefully, a life long change to be healthier, to possibly live longer without the aches and pains that came with unhealthy eating. This eBook chronicles her 60 day fast to become healthier.
She takes us along with her and her three daughters as they try to muddle through those first few days as the fuzziness takes hold of their bodies and minds. Each day is made available to us so that we can see through Cheryl's eyes what it was like to go through something like this. She has also included some recipes to get you started on your own journey into the juicing world. There are some additional online resources Cheryl has highlighted that were helps to her and could be very beneficial to you as well.

About the Author:
Cheryl Long is a wife and mother of 10 children and grandmother to 3. She has a blog named Treasures from a Shoebox where she blogs about everyday life.
She has a message for anyone that comes across her blog. From her own words: My prayer for each person who visits my blog is that you will be encouraged, inspired, challenged and drawn closer to Jesus Christ as you sift through the treasures that are shared here in my Shoebox.

My Review:
I have been hearing a lot lately about juicing and its benefits from weight loss to just plain old feeling better physically and mentally. I came across Cheryl Long and her blog Treasures from a Shoebox because we are both homeschooling moms. First, I would have to say Cheryl is a very brave woman to forgo eating solid food for 60 days is no easy feat. So first off I would like to commend her on accomplishing this insurmountable goal. I am sure it was not easy. I have been contemplating doing this myself and still have not had the guts to do it. But I am putting in a spinach bed and hope to get started on it real soon.
I myself can relate to some of what Cheryl has been through. I myself during and after having my 4 babies really can not or my body refuses (not sure which) to allow me to get back to even close the weight I was before it all went down hill. Cheryl's tell all journey is a really good look into what it is like, the up's the down's. Relying on the Lord, Cheryl and her family were able to gain a better sense of mental and physical health. Showing us all that if we try to look deep within ourselves we can have the same resolve.

The price of the 56 page eBook is $2.99 right now. Not a bad price at all. Here is a link to her website to learn more.

As you read each inspiring entry alone or with your family, you'll be informed and challenged to GROW in your walk with God. Each devotion features a relevant Bible verse among other things.

My Review:

What an AWESOME devotional Focus on the Family put together for us. My family and I LOVE Adventures in Odyssey so we were more than thrilled to get a chance to review this book for Tyndale.
Here are some highlights for you to see if this is the devotional for you and your family.

Lesson begins with a Bible verse.

Then a story from the Bible put in words for a child to understand.

A little snippet or word from one of the characters in Adventures in Odyssey.

Then of course the Daily Challenge, challenging our kids to do something a good deed if you will.

And then ends with a themed Bible Memory verse.

And if that's not all there are some puzzles for the kids to do.

Everything in this children's devotional is short and sweet just the way kids like it especially my boys. We will use this in our homeschool it will work out perfectly.
We as adults are not the only ones that could use a little Jesus time each morning before we begin our day. Our kids could too! You could do this at the breakfast table or at bedtime it is that convenient. So please take a look you won't be disappointed.

Review: Everyday Matters Bible for Women New Living Translation

I don't know about you but as a wife and mother my day to day life lately seems like it has me bound around the neck. I know that is a harsh way of putting it but it is the truth. We homeschool and just recently my husband was switched to the night shift. So between trying to get my own personal particulars in such as daily exercise & Bible time. And trying to my chores done and make sure the kids get theirs done. All the while trying to be quiet so daddy can sleep to say it is stressful is an understatement. So when I got the chance to review the Everyday Matters Bible for Women, I thought I sure hope I can work this in. But as we all know everything in God's perfect timing.

But as I started to look through it and seen all the new things that it had to offer I was amazed and just the look of it made me feel a little better about my day. There was one entry made by Kay Warren about Your Calling May Change and that one sort of "got me where I was at." She was talking about how moms of young children feel limited and that how we may want to do something else with our other gifts. But as hard as that feeling of staying put is. That we need to cherish these moments with our children because they only last a season. Yeah, that one kind of made me want to tuck my tail and run.
This Bible is made for us ladies! It has all kinds of neat little things to help us and encourage us. Here are just a few of my favorite highlights:

There are 24 different spiritual practice icons that help you focus on the things that matter to you most such as forgiveness, service, and prayer, etc.

Then there are different women from the Bible profiled that may fall under each one of those spiritual practices.

Also there were many contributors that offered words of encouragement throughout.

And there are many more attributes these are just a few.......

I believe my favorite part of this newer edition is where the various women of the Bible are highlighted. I always felt that these women that are featured in the Bible they are far superior to me. But they are a lot like the women of today. They shared in the same struggles we do. That is why I believe they are used as examples. This Bible has a beautiful, serene cover and dust jacket. It has an encouraging word along with our Father's words. How could we not want to spend our daily time with the Lord?

Review:Over The Edge by Mary Connealy

About the Book:
Seth Kincaid survived a fire in a cave, but he hasn't been the same since. Then he fought in the Civil War and returned to Colorado crazier than ever.
Somewhere along the line, it appears Seth got married. Oh, he has a lot of excuses, but his wife isn't too happy to find out Seth doesn't remember her. Callie isn't a long-suffering woman. When Seth disappeared, she searched, prayed, and worried. Now she has come out west to wrangle her long lost husband.
Seth is willing to make amends. Callie is more interested in shooting him. Can they rekindle their love before one of them goes over the edge?

About the Author:
Mary Connealy write romantic comedy with cowboys. She is the author of the acclaimed LASSOED IN TEXAS,MONTANA MARRIAGES, and SOPHIE'S DAUGHTERS series. Mary has been nominated for the Christy Award, was a finalist for a RITA Award, and is a two-time winner of the Carol Award. She lives on a ranch in eastern Nebraska with her very own romantic cowboy hero, Ivan. They have four grown daughters -Josyln,married to Matt; Wendy; Shelly, married to Aaron; and Katy- and two spectacular grand children, Elle and Isaac.

My Review:
This books begins with a gun fight. The very feisty Callie Kincaid is the only lady shooting back at the stagecoach robbers in this delightful book that is staged out west. Over The Edge is book 3 in the Kincaid Brides Series by Mary Connealy. Callie is headed to Colorado in search of her husband's family and hopefully him. Callie's character is a very strong one. She is a tough and no nonsense kind of girl. She has a weakness though for tall dark haired cowboys. Seth suffers from terrible nightmares and shortly after the two get married he walks out of Callie's life but little did he know it wasn't just hers he was walking out on. So after Callie recovers from child birth she decides that she and the baby will take a trip out west to find the baby's father. But things change a great deal after she finds out that Seth doesn't remember her or their marriage. This book has a lot of twists and turns and will always keep you guessing.

My Review:
Being a parent is probably the hardest job in the world. The only guide book you get for the job is the Bible. I am so thankful that on our daily journey with our children we can rely on God. No matter how many times we need to ask for help. No matter how many times we fail. And no matter how many times we ask for forgiveness. He is our ROCK. Kate's book is a good guide into helping you do all you can as a parent to help you and them realize God's dream for their lives. My daughter is 15 and several years ago she felt she was being called into the mission field. And as Kate lets us in on her experience with her daughter and how her success came about. My experience was much like hers in the fact that when my child told me what God was leading her to do it wasn't a surprise to me. God had told me many years prior to that that my child would be in the ministry and for me not to worry.
I spent many days and nights before that crying out to God for my children's lives. That he would cover them and lead them. Being a parent and knowing at some point you have to let your children go out into the big, scary world is very disheartening. I was terrified and still am at the notion. So God and I talk frequently about my children and the paths that they are on. I feel like if I ingrain God as much as I can into their very soul everything else will fall into place. And yes I am aware that that's not always the case but with God I can't go wrong so I am willing to stake everything on him.
This book will really get you to thinking about doing all you can in every realm to help you help your child stay on the path that God has chosen for them. It is a really great read.
