Litfuse Review:Love in the Balance by:Regina Jennings

 About the Book:
 Handsome Cowboy or Debonair Tycoon.

How's a Girl to Choose?

Molly Lovelace dreams of a life without cares in Lockhart, Texas. She also dreams of handsome wrangler Bailey Garner, her ardent but inconsistent beau. The problem is, with Bailey's poor prospects, she just can't fit the two dreams together.

Then mysterious stranger Edward Pierrepont sweeps into town-and her life-and for the first time Molly wonders if she's met the man who can give her everything. But he won't be in Lockhart long and while it certainly seems like he talks about their glorious future together, she can't quite get Bailey out of her mind.

What's a girl to do with all these decisions when love is in the balance?
Molly Lovelace dreams of being a society leader in 1879 Lockhart, Texas, but being smitten with handsome wrangler Bailey Garner doesn't seem the quickest route. If only he would settle down so he could support a family.

Bailey imagines doing great things for God, but his greatest obstacle is Molly. As long as he thought they'd be married, he excused their stolen kisses, but when she keeps refusing, he vows to earn her love. In town, he tries his hand at several different trades, but everywhere he turns he runs into the mysterious stranger Edward Pierrepont. No surprise that Molly's always making calf eyes at the wealthy adventurer.

As pressure from Molly's parents grows she is forced into a hasty decision. Had she weighed all her options and will she find love in the balance?

My Review:
Bailey in the beginning of the book decides he needs for the church to hold him accountable for some things that are bothering him. And of course everyone in the church raises their evil eyes towards Molly. So Molly decides she will stand and start yelling and fussing at Bailey about him calling her out in front of the whole church. Then Bailey proceeds to tell her that she just made fools out of the both of them because he never said it had anything to do with her.

Bailey wants to postpone the two of them getting engaged until he can get a job and a home of their own. Meanwhile, Molly's parents start setting her up with other people to get her married off before Bailey is able to continue on with their plans. While Molly is on one of her "dates" with Mr. Fenton in walks Bailey and he is not liking this at all.

A little later she is headed to court and while running her errand she helps a stranger which happens to be Edward. Edward is in town traveling and drops his wallet and Molly is there about the same time and hands it back to them. And after a nice exchange with this new found stranger it makes her think about Bailey and their wedding plans. Who is this stranger and why does she let him have this effect on her? What does this mean for her future with Bailey?
